About Poetchry

Poetchry is a not-for-profit art project that brings poetry into everyday spaces, one picnic table at a time.

We create picnic tables with original poetry etched directly into the wood. Each table becomes a public piece of functional art, placed in parks, streetscapes, and community spaces for anyone to enjoy.

Currently, a dozen Poetchry tables can be found throughout Cobourg, Ontario, with one also featured in the Cobourg Museum.

This Substack is where you’ll find:

  • Project updates and new table installations

  • Behind-the-scenes stories and build photos

  • Raw videos from the workshop — ink, sawdust, poetry in motion

  • Notes from the creative process and how it all comes together

Whether you're a local passerby or someone who believes in poetry as a public good you're invited to follow along.

Subscribe to stay in the loop, support the project, and get a glimpse of Poetchry as it unfolds.
